2013 Photojournalism Internship
Alister & Paine magazine is seeking an intern to assist with projects related to the visual side of the magazine including photography research and going on assignment with the team to capture images for feature stories. The intern will gain an understanding of the way the photo, design, and editorial departments work together to produce the magazine.
This is an academic internship, part-time, which is only offered once a year.
The responsibilities of the intern will be to:
– Assist with preparing files in Photoshop for the Alister & Paine website as well as our Facebook Photo Galleries.
– Assist with stock photo research on future story assignments.
– Please note that some travel will be necessary.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Intern must be working toward a college degree. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, acute attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as required. Familiarity with digital photography and file types a plus. Experience with Photoshop and/or Lightroom preferred. Previous photo editing experience through former internships, college courses, and/or work on school publications a plus. Demonstrates a love of photojournalism, business, travel, and food.
School credit must be obtained for this internship, and there is no pay (except, of course, for the invaluable experience!). Please ask your academic adviser to verify that this internship would qualify for credit hours.
