Beauty is a delicate thing…a certain amount of confidence, luxury and occasionally some serious self-indulgence all come together to create The Drawing Room, a fabulous minimalistic SoHo salon with a passion for great hair and a welcoming attitude.
This is not just about a haircut. They think of hair here as a form of expression and style…each strand is a canvas to these artists. Clyde Elezi, the owner and founder of the salon moved from Athens to NYC in search of his dreams nearly a decade ago. He chose the name ‘The Drawing Room’ based on his inviting nature, making it a place to gather. The idea and décor is inspired by an NYC loft—you should feel at home here. With a cappuccino machine and/or chilled glass of wine waiting for you upon arrival, it’s hard not to just sit yourself in their Chanel view corner chair (which can be reserved in advance) and never leave.
All a woman needs is a good bath, clean clothes, and for her hair to be combed. These things she can do herself. I very seldom go to the hairdresser, but when I do, I just marvel. – Hedy Lamarr
Colorists here are perfectionists—a consultation begins with really figuring out what you want and what you can handle. There’s also the fun techie aspect of simply googling a celebrity on an iPad and voila! Your color inspiration is created. Clyde and his team are inspired by the poetic beauty that can be in its ever morphing state and the dynamic fashion industry that surrounds New York. The result is the epitome of luxury hair care, from the experience to the final product.
The philosophy at The Drawing Room is as bold as it is direct: capture the essence of art and beauty through hair. It doesn’t sound life changing, but it is. It will be the very best haircut of your life.
The Drawing Room is all about cutting edge techniques, architectural design and flawless hair color. A makeover from The Drawing Room feels like becoming a work of art—an intricate, sophisticated, extraordinary piece of art. Judge for yourself—we visited the salon for a three hour color, cut, blow-out and style. I can’t wait for my roots to go in so I can go back.
